Settings

Before processing your first transaction the SpotOn Mobile Payments settings should be configured appropriately for your business needs. The settings are accessed through the menu icon in the upper left corner.

Signature Required

This setting gives the option to require a customer to sign to complete a transaction.

Display

Action

  1. Tap the Menu button in the upper left corner

  2. Select Settings

  3. Select Require Signature

  4. Choose an option:

    • Always

    • Over $20

  5. Tap Apply Changes

  6. A popup will display asking to confirm changes, tap Continue

  7. Tap the back arrow ← to return to Settings

Taxes

When the Apply Taxes option is On, the specified tax rate will be applied to all transactions by default. Taxes can be toggled on or off for each transaction in the Terminal.

  1. Tap the Menu button in the upper left corner

  2. Select Settings

  3. Select Tax

  4. Toggle On to apply a custom tax to your transactions

  5. In the Tax Rate field input the default tax percentage

  6. Tap Apply Changes

  7. A popup will display asking to confirm changes to setting, tap Continue to save

  8. Tap the back arrow ← to return to Settings

Tips

When the Accept Tips option is turned On customers will be given the option to leave a tip when completing the transaction. Tip options will include: none, a custom amount, and three preset percentages.

  1. Tap the Menu button in the upper left corner

  2. Select Settings

  3. Select Tips

  4. Toggle On to allow customers to leave preset tips, as well as Custom or None

  5. In the Preset Tips fields, input the desired preset tip percentages, i.e., 10%, 15%, 20%, etc.

  6. Tap Apply Changes when the desired tip amounts have been entered

  7. A popup will display asking to confirm changes to setting, tap Continue to save

  8. Tap the back arrow ← to return to Settings

The Legal section opens the SpotOn website where you can find more information about SpotOn.

  1. Tap the Menu button in the upper left corner

  2. Select Settings

  3. Select Legal

    • This will open the SpotOn website

  4. Select from the following to learn more:

    • Merchant Terms

    • User Terms

    • Privacy Policy

  5. Tap Close when finished

Hardware Status

Card Reader

Here you can view the connection status of your SpotOn Mobile card reader.

  1. Tap the Menu button in the upper left corner

  2. Select Settings

  3. Select Hardware Status Card Reader

    • If currently paired with a SpotOn Mobile card reader, the serial number of the paired device will display

      • Tap Disconnect Card Reader to disconnect

    • If no device is paired, tap Connect to Card Reader

  4. When the SpotOn Mobile card reader is paired, you are ready to begin taking payments
