Advanced Menu Item Reporting
Item Reporting gives the ability to accurately track food/product costs and it is priceless to any serious restaurateur or restaurant group. This example will provide a case of how to use the reporting to accurately track Menu Items that are prepared in large batches and are normally tracked in overall volume, rather than individual sales.
Scenario: Craft brewery makes and sells their own product onsite via a taproom. They offer many varieties of beer that can be served in Tulips, Mugs and Pints, as well as Flights. Setting these options up correctly will allow the end user to capture the reporting data from the sales in a clean way. If twoMenu Items have the same Name, the data will report together.

Reporting for Beer Brewed Onsite
In this example, we will attach a price to the specific Modifiers for the types of serving glasses used to serve the Menu Items (craft brews). That way the restaurant owner can view the ways in which their product is being sold.

Reporting for Flights
In this example the number of Sub Items (beers) in the flight option will determine the price. We will create a Menu Item Group, in which there will be two Flight Menu Items: 4 or 6 beer flights. The flights will be priced accordingly, and the beer choices will be attached as a Sub Items Group. This will allow the restaurant owner additional insight into how their product is being sold.
