Customer QR Group Order Flow
Display | Action/Information | ||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Scanning the QR Code & Viewing the MenuThe first thing customers will see when scanning the QR code is the menu. This is so they can browse the menu & look at the details of the items before starting or joining an order. | |||||||
Joining an Order & Viewing the MenuOnce a customer joins an order they will see their first initial highlighted, and the initials of any other guests who are on the order with them. | |||||||
When customers are joining the order, we will now require a guest name. This is crucial for the group ordering aspect of this experience.
| |||||||
Inviting GuestsCustomers will be able to “invite guests” to join the order from the native share sheet functionality on their device.
| |||||||
Bag ScreensUsers are able to see other guests add items to the order in real time. Depending on on the Back of House configuration for Pay Now or Pay Later, the user experience will differ at this stage.
Pay Now EnabledWhen the configuration is Pay Now, customers have to build their order & pay before the items are sent to the kitchen. | |||||||
Pay Later EnabledWhen the configuration is Pay Later, customers can send items to the kitchen on a rolling basis, then pay for the entire order at the end of their meal. | |||||||
Sending Items to the KitchenWhen collaborating on an order with multiple guests, items will be sent to the kitchen together. For example if Brian & Frank are collaborating on the same order, when Brian clicks Send Order, all of Brian & Frank’s items that are added to the bag will be sent to the kitchen. They guests can continue to add items to their bag.
| |||||||
Checking Out & LoyaltyWhen one guest initiates checkout, they will be prompted with a modal asking Is your table ready? The reason for this is because the order will “lock” for all other guests when someone is checking out so the order total does not change during payment.
Loyalty may only be added to the order when the customer is on the checkout screen. Only one person may earn & burn loyalty. In order to earn loyalty points on the order a customer must do one of the following:
