E-Gift Cards

E-Gift Cards are part of the SpotOn Order system, and are accessed via the organization’s SpotOn Order home page.

Users can buy gift cards ranging from $10 - $500, which can be used at all locations linked to the same organization (through group ID). 

Organizations also have the option to have custom gift card templates, custom themes, and promo gift cards, currently only available on a limited basis. 

E-gift cards can be purchased online by a user, after which both the recipient and sender get emails with portal links. If an organization has promo gift cards they go through the same flow, except before checkout they are prompted to enter details for the promo gift card(s) they have received.

Purchasing E-Gift Cards in SpotOn Order Portal

1. Go to the organization’s SpotOn Order site and click on Buy E-Gift Cards in the top right corner of the screen

2. Once in the Gift Card portal, users can select the gift card template they want (in this example, we are choosing from the default templates) and fill out the form

3. Fill out the E-gift card information as needed:

  • Gift Card Amount

  • Recipient’s Name

  • Recipient’s Email address

  • Confirm the recipient’s email address

  • Personal message

4. Once the user selects Add to Bag, the gift card will be added to their bag for checkout. From here they can:

  • Edit the gift card

  • Remove the gift card

  • Continue to Checkout

  • Remove all gift cards (if applicable)

  • Add an additional gift card(s) by clicking on the gift card template

5. Once a user continues to the checkout page, they will be prompted to enter their credit card information

6. Once a user clicks Confirm and Pay, they will be taken to the confirmation page. All their gift card details will be displayed

  • From here, users will also have following choices:

    • Back to Menu will take them to the SpotOn Order home page

    • More E-Gift Cards will take them back to the e-gift card portal

Promo Gift Cards in the SpotOn Order Portal

Promo gift cards are given to a user after they have spent a certain amount on gift card purchases. 

When the threshold is reached, and the user continues to the checkout page, a modal will appear letting the user know they have received a promo gift card, and will prompt them to edit it.

1. On the e-gift portal, the user will see a banner that says how a promo card can be earned.  In this example, we receive a $10 promo card for every $50 spent

2. When the user selects Continue to Checkout, they will see pop-up of a proof of the card

3. Users can either send both cards themselves or choose to edit them individually, and they can send the gift card to themselves or to someone else

4. After the promo cards are all added to the bag, the user can check out normally. 

Tip

Users will not be charged extra for the promo cards.

Custom E-Gift Card Designs

To customize your e-gift card designs, log in to your SpotOn Dashboard and look for the “Gift Cards” link in the navigation. From there you’ll see a page where you can customize your gift card artwork.

  1. Log in to the SpotOn Dashboard and navigate to the “Gift Cards” page from the left-hand side of the menu

  2. To enable or disable any card designs (including any that SpotOn provides) click the toggle to On or Off below the needed gift card

3. Once the necessary cards are enabled or disabled, select Publish Changes to make the gift card live in the e-gift storefront

4. To restore gift cards back to their original design, select Cancel

Uploading a Custom Image

  1. Log in to the SpotOn Dashboard and navigate to the Gift Cards page from the left-hand menu

  2. To upload a custom design, select Upload New Design

3. A pop-up window will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. Click the blue Browse to navigate your device or computer to locate the needed image file(s)

Tip

4 images can be uploaded at one time from a smart device or computer

  • Images must be in .PNG format and less than 10 MB in size

  • Images will also be displayed in a 1.59 aspect ratio, so we recommend a minimum file size of 700 pixels wide by 440 pixels tall

4. Select the image(s) and click Open to upload to your Dashboard

5. A preview of the newly uploaded image will populate on the right-hand side of the screen. Click Save to save the image

Cropping a Custom Image

  1. To adjust or crop an image, select image that needs editing, then select the Crop button on the left in order to make adjustments

2. Images can be dragged and dropped to adjust their placement within the preview screen. They may also be zoomed in/out of using the sliding magnifying bar at the bottom of the preview panel

3. Once all the needed adjustments have been made, select Apply to save the changes

Replacing a Custom Image

  1. To replace an uploaded image, select the Replace button

2. A pop-up window will appear that will allow navigation to the device or computer file location needed image(s)

4. The replaced image will show in the preview panel

5. Click Save to save the image

Removing a Custom Image

  1. To remove an image, select the Remove button

Publishing a Custom E-Gift Card Design

  1. Users can make as many changes or edits as are needed in the Dashboard

  2. To make newly created or edited e-gift cards live, select Publish Changes

  3. The e-gift card will be live and available within moments.

Note

Any changes made (uploading custom designs or toggling to on or off a card) will only go live if a user selects Publish Changes. All edits or changes will be lost by selecting Cancel or navigating to another page.

E-Gift Card Recipient Portal

1. When a gift card is ordered, an email with redemption information is sent to the recipient.  By clicking Claim, users are taken to the Recipient Portal

2. Once in the recipient portal, users can:

  • Print their gift card information

  • Select Use Now to be taken to the restaurant’s SpotOn Order site

  • Refresh their card balance

  • Copy their gift card number

  • Access the the restaurant’s SpotOn Order link

  • Access the e-gift card portal link


E-Gift Card Sender Portal

1. When a gift card is ordered, the sender will receive a confirmation email. By clicking Go to Portal, the user will be taken to the sender portal

2. From the sender portal, users can:

  • See a purchase history of all gift cards purchased by the user

  • Refresh the balance of active gift cards

  • Select Another Gift Card to be redirected to the restaurant’s e-gift card portal
