Report groups are the categories assigned Menu Items to track their usage and popularity in the SpotOn Restaurant Reports.
There are two types of Report Groups
...
: Parent Report Groups and Child Report Groups. Parent Report Groups are very general, and encompass numerous Child Report Groups. For example the Parent Group, (FOOD), would hold Child Groups such as Burgers, Appetizers, Sides, Soups, etc.. Child Report Groups are typically named for the Menu Item Groups they contain.

Tap the Report Groups icon
Tap the New Item icon ( + ) to create a new Report Group
In the General Information section, name the Report Group
The naming convention for Parent Report Groups is as such: (FOOD), (BEER), (BEVERAGES), etc..
Create Child Report Group

Tap the Report Groups icon
Tap the New Item icon ( + ) to create a new Report Group
In the General Information section, name the Report Group
Child Report Groups typically share their name with the Menu Item Group they contain, i.e., Desserts, Appetizers, Burgers, etc..
Use the drop down menu to assign a Parent Group, i.e., (FOOD), (BEER), (BEVERAGES), etc..

In the Menu Items section, click the Edit Menu Items button

Use the check mark icon to select all Menu Items
You will now be editing all Menu Items in this Menu Item Group
