The configuration of Menu Items and Menu Item Groups for SpotOn Order is handled through a section named Online Ordering Settings that is a part of both Menu Items and Menu Item Groups.

Display

  1. Tap Menu Items

  2. Select the Menu Item(s) you would like to edit

  3. Scroll down to the Online Ordering section

  4. Start by checking the Exclude From Online Ordering checkbox on the Menu Item or Menu Item Group you will be editing

    • This will make the menu Items and menu item groups unavailable in the SpotOn Order selection temporarily and enable you to edit the menu without any customer orders being placed

  5. Next, you can update the Display Name for the menu item(s)

    • This field allows for customer facing names for the end users/customers of SpotOn Order while being able to name Menu Items appropriately for internal use

      • For example: “4 PC CHX 2 SIDES” would be the Menu Item name and “Four Piece and Choice of Two Sides” would be the Display Name for customers placing an online order

  6. You can add a Menu Item Description in the Description box

    • A description can be added to provide lengthy details for both Menu Items and Menu Item Groups

  7. Accept Item Notes checkbox: If there are Menu Items that may require notes from the customer, you will want to select the Accept Item Notes checkbox

    • This will allow end users/customers to input custom notes on individual Menu Items

Important: When you are finished editing a menu item or menu item group remember to de-select the Exclude from Online Ordering checkbox!

8. Click the X to close or continue to the next menu item and repeat

  1. To add an image for a Menu Item:

    • Scroll down to the Extra Information section of a Menu Item

    • Click the Choose Image button that is listed next to Menu Item Image.

    • Upload your desired image

      • Max Boundaries: 600w X 337h

  1. Tap Menu Item Groups

  2. Select the Menu Item Group(s) you would like to edit

  3. Scroll down to the Online Ordering section

  4. Start by checking the Exclude From Online Ordering checkbox on the Menu Item or Menu Item Group you will be editing

    • This will make the menu Items and menu item groups unavailable in the SpotOn Order selection temporarily and enable you to edit the menu without any customer orders being placed

  5. Next, you can update the Display Name for the menu item group

    • This field allows for customer facing names for the end users/customers of SpotOn Order while being able to name Menu Item groups appropriately for internal use

  6. You can add a Menu Item Group Description in the Description box

    • A description can be added to provide lengthy details for both Menu Items and Menu Item Groups

7. To organize Menu Item Groups on the SpotOn Order site, use the Display Position section of Menu Item Groups

  • Entering a “1” on a Menu Item Group will cause it to display 1st, entering a “2” will cause the group to display 2nd and so on

  • If the Menu Item Group Display Position feature is not set, the groups will display alphabetically

8. Click the X to close or continue to the next Menu Item Group and repeat
