Menu Item Groups keep Menu Items organized and can be used as away to easily access like items across SpotOn Restaurant POS. It is good practice to create the Menu Item Group before creating the Menu Items.

  2. Select the New Item (+) button

  3. In the General Information field input the appropriate Name for the new Menu Group

  4. Assign a color to the new Menu Group, click Select

    • This will add color to all the buttons in this group, however, if a Menu Item in this group has a different color assigned that is what will display

  5. In Menu Items, click Add New Menu Item(s)

    • In the Select Menu Item(s) options select one or multiple Menu Items to add

Part 1- Item Creation

  2. Select the New Item (+) button

  3. In the General Information section, enter the Name and Report Group

  4. In the Location Specific Settings, set the Requisition Group

  5. In the Taxes section, add any applicable Taxes (Optional)

  6. In the Menu Item Groups section on the Menu Item, select the appropriate Menu Item Group

Part 2- Viewing/Editing the Menu Item in Menu Item Groups

  1. Tap Menu Item Groups

  2. Select the Menu Item Group where the newly created Menu Item is located

  3. Click the Edit Menu Items button located under the Menu Items section

    • The Menu Items should now appear sorted by Group; you can duplicate items and change the name and/or price as appropriate

    • You can also setup Modifier linkages with the correct/desired settings

    • After the Modifiers are linked you can set up the Sub-Item linkages with the correct/desired settings

If a Menu Item needs to be added to an existing Menu Item Group, it is recommended to duplicate a Menu Item in that group, and then make the necessary changes, i.e. Menu Item Name, to that duplicate. This is a quicker method than creating an entire new Menu Item and manually adding it the Menu Item Group.

Display

  1. Select the Menu Item Group that the new Item needs to be located in

Example: Adding Founders All Day IPA to the Draft Beer Menu Item Group

Example displayed: Blue Moon

5. Update the Name of the Menu Item to the name of the new one that is being added

6. Update the pricing, requisition group, or other settings that require adjustments as needed

This method words with Food Items as well, however, a new Modifier Group must be added to the Item. Please view Create a New Modifier Group for more information
