Q: If I refer a business SpotOn already has in their system, will I receive a referral bonus?

A: No. If you submit a referral for a business already having a sales conversation with our team, it is not eligible for a payout. We will email you after we have reviewed the referral to let you know whether it is or is not eligible. You can also check the status of your referrals in your dashboard. Note: Only eligible referrals will be listed on your referral dashboard. 


Q: I am a partner in one business and opening up a new location for another; can I refer and earn a bonus for the new business I’m opening?

A: No. You can not refer your own business or any business that you are in partnership with. We are committed to creating strong relationships with our clients, and we hope our dedication to providing exceptional service and resources to grow your business will earn us your continued support. 


Q: I want to refer a business, but my dashboard isn’t set up. Can I still make a referral?

A: No. All referrals must be submitted through the SpotOn Dashboard to qualify for the referral bonus. If you’re having issues getting set up, please contact your hospitality specialist or SpotOn at support@spoton.com or call  (877) 814-4102.  


Q: A business I want to refer was a previous SpotOn client but has changed ownership. Are they eligible for a referral?

A: No. Rebooks, including COO/COB (Change of Ownership and Change of Business), are not eligible for referral bonuses. 


Q: I submitted an NRO (New Restaurant Opening) referral. How does SpotOn validate the NRO status?   

A:  During the SpotOn Underwriting process, our team will determine and validate client NRO (New Restaurant Opening) status. A new restaurant opening is defined as a restaurant with all new construction or a new concept build-out.


Q: I want to refer a business, but I have past-due balances. Am I eligible?

A: Clients can submit referrals at any time, but must be in good standing with no past-due balances to be eligible for a referral bonus payout. 


Q: I referred a retail client a few months ago, but they have since switched to SpotOn Restaurant. Am I eligible for the higher bonus payout?

A: No. Clients cannot request a higher payout after their referred client has signed and activated. 


Q: What are the activation thresholds that need to be met for my referral reward to be paid? And when will I be paid?  

A:  Clients who refer a Retail POS business will be rewarded when their referral reaches $1,000 in processing. Clients who refer a Restaurant POS business will be rewarded when their referral reaches $10,000 in processing. Please refer to the SpotOn Referral Terms and Conditions for detailed information on reward payouts and promotion dates. Rewards will be paid within 30 days of activation.  


Q: I referred a business, but they have not activated their account. Will I still get paid?

A: We only pay rewards once the referred business activates its account. This means that if your referral is a retail business they must process $1,000 before we issue a reward, and if they are a restaurant business they must process $10,000 before we issue a reward.


Q: I want to refer a multi-location business/franchise. What is the process? 

A: To receive reward payouts for a referred business with more than one location you will need to enter each location into your dashboard.  


Q: Will I be able to see referrals that I submitted prior to the launch of the Referral dashboard (August 16, 2023)?

A: No, historical/past referrals will not show up on your dashboard. You will not see any data until you enter your first referral on/after August 16, 2023.
