You can create promotions to incentivize customers to buy more e-gift cards. Promotions allow customers to get a free bonus gift card if they purchase a certain amount, e.g., “Spend $50 on gift cards and get $10 free.”

Tip

Promotions are only available for e-gift cards, and not for physical gift cards sold in-store.

Enable E-Gift Card Promotions in the BOH

E-Gift Promotions require set up in the SpotOn Restaurant BOH.

1. From the main BOH menu, select the Payments icon

2. Click the ( + ) New Item button to create a new payment method

3. In the General Information section, name the new payment method ”Promotional Gift Card”

6. Set the Kind to Other

7. Return the main BOH menu and select the Locations icon

8. Scroll to the SpotOn Online Ordering section

9. Use the eGift Card Promo Card Payment (Kind=”Other”) dropdown menu to select the payment method just created, Promotional Gift Card

Enable E-Gift Card Promotions in the SpotOn Dashboard

The details of an E-Gift Card Promotions are set up, and edited, in your SpotOn Dashboard.

Display

1. Log in to your SpotOn Dashboard

2. Click the Gift Cards page from the left hand panel

3. Select the Promotions tab

4. To enable or disable a promotion, click the toggle to On or Off next to the promotion

5. To edit the values of the promotion, click Edit, next to Promo Values

6. In the Edit Promo Values pop up, set the Promo Gift Value

  • This will be how much the free E-Gift Card will be worth

7. Set the Minimum Purchase requirement

  • This is how much the customer will need to purchase before receiving the free E-Gift Card

8. Click Save to save the values

  • Click Cancel to restore the values back to the original values

9. To edit the dates of the Promotion, click Edit, next to Promo Duration

10. In the Promo Duration pop up window, select the Start and End Dates

  • The Promotion will run automatically between the select dates

11. Click Save to save the values

  • Click Cancel to restore the values back to the original values

12. To edit the artwork advertising the promotion, pick a background color from the list

  • The preview will update automatically depending on which color you select.

13. Once the promotion is set up, select Publish Changes to make the gift card live in your e-gift storefront

  • To restore the promotion back to its original state, select Cancel
