Overview

QR Collaborative Ordering enables guests and staff to collaborate on the same order. It allows staff to start an order with a tab and invite guests (via an SMS link) to view, add, and check out at any time from their mobile devices.

Inviting a guest to collaborate (Front of House)

There are three ways to invite a guest to collaborate on an order:

  1. Through Ticket Commands, select Start a Tab

  1. If configured to appear in the Commands bar at the bottom of the screen, select Invite Guest

Once selected, a prompt will appear. Enter guest’s phone number to send a text message to their mobile device and initiate the collaboration process.

Guest Collaboration Experience

  1. Upon having their phone number entered into the Point of Sale, the guest will receive an SMS welcome message inviting them to collaborate.

  1. Upon following the link in the SMS message, the guest will be taken to a page to enter their name as it will appear on the order.

If they were added to the order through the Front of House, they will be taken to an already-joined order.

Solo diners will have the order number and options displayed.

Multi-Guest Orders

When multiple guests join an order, the name they enter will be visualized at the top of the screen alongside the other guests currently collaborating on the order.

  1. Once the ordering has begun, a screen will appear which will allow more items to be added after the initial order.

  1. Items that have been added will be listed underneath the name of the guest who added it to the order, alongside quantity and price. Items displayed under “Unassigned” are items that were added to the order by the server.

  1. Once the tab is ready to be settled, a screen will be displayed with the bill and items listed. From this screen, guests can select the payment method, enter any promo codes or gift cards, elect to receive receipt via email, and determine tip.

Info

Only the first customer attached to the transaction (the first to join via SMS) will be able to view the pre-authorized card information for the order. Any other guests that view the bill will default to Apple Pay as their method of payment.
