FAQs

Is there a concept of group leader?

The first user who proceeds to the split by amount screen will have control over splitting the check. If other users try to proceed to checkout during this time they will be shown a modal informing them which guest at the table is splitting the check.

Can I add or remove guests?

Guests can be added manually by tapping the “Add another guest” button, or the URL can be shared for a guest to join the order. This can be done by copying and pasting the URL manually or by using their devices native share sheet functionality.

Can guests be added to an order without a name?

No, guests must enter a name to be added to the order.

What if the balances selected are greater than the balance due?

If a user selects a balance greater than the balance due, their balance will default to match the total, while the other guests’ balance will be changed to 0.

How will guests know if a payment has been made through the server?

A toast message will appear informing the guests the amount that has been paid via the server.

What if someone pays for a guest before they complete checkout?

The guest would be brought to the checkout screen where they can see the “Paid” chip that confirms they have been paid for.

How will guests know if their bill has been paid in full?

A toast message will appear at the top of the screen indicating that everyone has been paid for. Just like above, the guests will also be able to see that everyone has a “Paid” chip next to their name.
Guests will also receive a modal notifying them that the order is complete and everyone has been paid for.

What if I try to pay for a guest that has already been paid for?

The guest will receive a toast message informing them that the guest they have selected has been paid for by someone else.

What if a customer placed an order via phone and wants to pay in person with card or cash?

This customer can pay via card or cash and their payment will still be visible to other guests at the table.

What happens if part of a tab is open and guests leave the restaurant?

Currently, the tab would stay open.

How will I know if a tab is still open and not fully paid on the POS? Is there any notification?

There is a setting in BOH called “Table Occupied time before alert” that can be used to specify the amount of time an order can sit before it flashes on the POS.
