Creating Table Orders

Creating, and managing table orders with SpotOn Restaurant POS is very simple. Please see Table Layouts and Table Status for additional BackOffice information.

Create New Table Order

Action

Display

  1. Navigate to the Table Layout screen by tapping Table Layout (located in the bottom right navigation menu)

  2. Select the correct Table Community

  3. Tap the table the order is for

  4. Input the appropriate number of guests

  5. Begin adding menu items to the Table Order


Adding Menu Items to a Table Order

When adding menu items to a table order, it can be done through the Menu, or through Item Search. With table orders, the menu items needs to be assigned to a specific guest, or to the table for the guests to split.

  1. Begin a new table order, or open an existing one  (List Orders > Select order/table)

  2. Select the menu item to add

    • Note: You can also use Item Search to add items to the table order

  3. Select the guest that the item should be assigned to, and press OK

    • If each guest is having one of the same items each, press One For Each Guest

    • If the item is to be shared by all guests, select For the Table

  4. Verify the item has been added correctly to the table order


Sending Orders

Send Order to Kitchen

Once created and all items added to the table order, it will need to be sent to the kitchen. There are two ways to send items to the kitchen printer and/or any other printers (send routes are defined in the back office on a per station basis).

Method 1

  1. When the order is ready to be sent to the kitchen, simply tap Send (bottom right navigation menu)

  2. The order will be sent to the assigned printer and the user will be taken to the List Orders screen

Method 2

  1. Tap anywhere in the header of the order to open the Ticket Commands menu

  2. Tap Send 

  3. The order will be sent to the assigned printer and the user will be taken to the List Orders screen

Quick Send

Quick Send will send the order to the assigned printer, but the user will not be moved to list orders, the current will stay on screen and additional changes can be made.

  1. Tap anywhere in the header of the order to open the Ticket Commands menu

  2. Tap Quick Send 

  3. The order will be sent to the printer, but the order will stay open to add additional items

    • Any additional items added after the Quick Send/Send, that have not yet been sent to the kitchen will be shown with a green mark on the right hand side

In some setups, the Quick Send button may be located on the Command Bar and the user will not need to go through the Command Menu to access the function
