Editing Headers

Follow these steps to customize the top portion of your website - the Header.

The website Header is the top portion of your website. It contains the title or logo of your site and the main navigation menu.

Unlike other sections, the website header cannot be deleted, duplicated, added, or moved, only edited.

Most themes allow for customization of the header like changing the logo, title, or subtitle, as well as editing the order and look of the main navigation through the styles menu. The Sofia theme is the best theme for header customization as it includes a number of new features.

Editing the Sofia Theme Header

To Edit the Title and Subtitle

Action

Display

  1. Position your mouse over the footer and click Edit.

  2. Under Logo Settings, click the Text Logo box.

  3. Type a Title/Subtitle for your website.

  4. Save Changes

To use a Logo instead of a Title

Action

Display

  1. Position your mouse over the header and click Edit.

  2. Under Logo Settings, click the Image Logo box.

  3. Click Upload Logo.

  4. Adjust the size using the bar under Image Size or use the actual size by checking the box.

  5. Save Changes.

To Add a Promo Bar

Display

  1. Position your mouse over the header and click Edit.

  2. Select Navigation Settings.

  3. Check the Promo Bar box.

  4. You can enter a phone number, special announcement or promotion to appear in a band at the top of your website.

  5. Save Changes

To Add Buttons to the Header

Action

Display

  1. Position your mouse over the header and click Edit.

  2. Select Navigation Settings.

  3. Check the Show Button A or B box.

  4. Save Changes.

To Display Social Links in the Header

Action

  1. Position your mouse over the header and click Edit.

  2. Select Navigation Settings.

  3. Check the Social Links box.

  4. Enter the URL for each social link you would like to include. Leave empty to hide the icon.

  5. Save Changes.

Editing All Other Theme Headers

To Edit Title and Subtitle

  1. Position your mouse over the website title and click Edit.

  2. Type a Title/Subtitle for your website.

  3. Save Changes.

To use a Logo instead of a Title:

  1. Position your mouse over the website title and click Edit .

  2. Select Use Image.

  3. Upload Logo.

  4. Adjust the size using the bar under Image Size or use the actual size by checking the box.

  5. Save Changes.
