Blackout Times

Reservation blackout times are a useful tool a restaurant can utilize for various instances.

Standard Blackout Times, for example, can be used to prevent reservations being made too close to closing time. Standard Blackout Times repeat on a weekly basis.

Special Blackout Times can be used to block specific days of the year, perhaps the restaurant is hosting a business event and won’t have any additional tables. It can also be used to close off reservations for that day, in the instance that they are short-staffed or extremely busy.

To access Reservation Blackout Times, log into the SpotOn Reserve Web Portal, click Settings, then select Reservation Blackout Times.

  1. In the Standard Blackout Times section, click the Add ( + ) button

  2. Select the desired Day of Week from the drop down menu

  3. Select the applicable Start Time and End Time for that day of the week

  4. If you want Hosts to comply with the blackout times, check the box Apply Internally

  5. Click the blue Save button when complete

    • Additional days of the week can be added by repeating this process

  • To edit a blackout time, click the Edit icon and make any desired changes

  • To delete a blackout time, click the red trash can icon

To view all available times on a day that are available to the public through the restaurant’s website click Check Available Times

  1. In the Special Holiday Blackout Times section, click the Add ( + ) button

  2. Select the desired Date from the calendar

  3. Input the applicable Start Time and End Time for that day of the week

  4. If you want Hosts to comply with the blackout times, check the box Apply Internally

  5. Click the blue Save button when complete

    • Additional dates can be added by clicking the Add New ( + ) button and repeating this process

  • To edit a blackout time, click the Edit icon and make any desired changes

  • To delete a blackout time, click the red trash can icon

To view all available times on a day that are available to the public through the restaurant’s website click Check Available Times
