Step 1: Unpacking

  1. Unpack the unit

  2. Included with the SpotOn Terminal will be the following:

    • AC Power Supply

    • USB to Micro USB Cable

    • Thermal Paper Roll

Step 2: Power

  1. Insert the USB end of the USB to micro USB cord into the AC power supply

  2. Insert the micro USB connector into the micro USB port on the left side of the SpotOn Terminal

  3. Charge the battery until full (Approx. 1-2 hours)

  4. Power on the terminal once the battery is fully charged

The SpotOn Terminal supports WiFi for network and internet access. To enable and connect to WiFi:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the touch screen, and tap the notifications bar to access the quick settings menu

  2. Tap WiFi

    • This will enable WiFi on the device and display available WiFi networks

  3. Select desired WiFi network

  4. Enter network password, then tap Connect

    • Connection successful if “Connected” displays under the selected WiFi name

Step 4: Registration, Test and Activate (Stand Alone)

If it is your first time accessing the SpotOn Terminal App you will be prompted to register and login.

Registration & Test Transaction

  1. Tap the SpotOn Payments app icon

  2. You will be prompted to login with your Merchant Dashboard password

    • If you need to reset your password you can do so from the same screen

  3. Read and accept the Terms & Conditions

  4. Set your Business Category

    • You must select a minimum of 1/maximum of 3

  5. Once you are logged into the terminal app, process a test transaction
