Steps for using the SMS receipt option as a Receipt Type on the point-of-sale.

1. After an order has been completed and a credit card has been swiped, a prompt will display options to Select Receipt Type:

  • Print

  • E-mail

  • SMS

  • No Receipt

Select the SMS option from the Select Receipt Type window.

2. A screen with a field to Enter Phone Number is displayed. Use the numbers to enter the customer’s phone number.

If a customer is attached to the order and has a phone number saved to their profile, the phone number will be pre-filled in the field.

Currently - phone numbers entered on the Send SMS receipt screen will NOT be save to a customer’s profile that is attached to the order. It will only be used to send the receipt for the transaction.

Best Practice
Verify the customer’s number before sending the receipt.

3. Once the phone number has been verified and/or entered in the field, select Send.

4. A green banner is displayed at the bottom of the screen confirming the Receipt was successfully sent.

The workflow for the SMS Receipt option is the same for SpotOn Counter and SpotOn Sidekick.
