Overview

With Restaurant POS tablets, servers can easily take orders at the table, using the same user interface that is displayed on the point-of-sale system.

Payments using the tablet is not currently supported.

Requires a stationary front-of-house point-of-sale system.

Requires ability to handle payments at station - not relying on the tablet for payments.

Download the Fully Kiosk app via the Google Play store on the tablet.

Navigate to the Settings>General on the tablet.

Enter POS.client.restaurantpos.spoton.com/p into the Kiosk URL field.

 

Navigate to the Remote Management page from the left-side menu.

Enter the following in the fields:
Launch On Reboot - YES
Keep Device On - YES
Screen Orientation - LANDSCAPE

 

 

 


Fire Tablet Basic Troubleshooting

Follow the guidelines below to ensure the Amazon Fire tablet continues to function properly:

 

  • Ensure the tablet is kept charged using an appropriate charging cable

  • Ensure an internet connection is established using the appropriate wifi account

  • Verify Airplane Mode is Deactivated

  • Keep the tablet’s software up-to-date

Follow the guidelines below to ensure the Fully Kiosk browser continues to function properly:

Why are we recommending merchants use the Kiosk App? 

The Kiosk App has worked well historically with SpotOn dealers. It enables restaurants to lockdown other apps in Kiosk Mode so managers can ensure servers are only using the FOH app. The layout ensures that users do not waste any real estate on the SpotOn pages. 

 

Can merchants use their own tablets if it’s not a fire tablet? 

We recommend using fire tablets, our merchants can technically still use any device with a browser to access our POS. 

 

What tablet case should we recommend?

The SpotOn dealer success team has used this case historically but it does not have a hand strap.Â
