Item Reporting gives the ability to accurately track food/product costs and it is priceless to any serious restaurateur or restaurant group. This example will provide a case of how to use the reporting to accurately track Menu Items that are prepared in large batches and are normally tracked in overall volume, rather than individual sales.
Scenario: Craft brewery makes and sells their own product onsite via a taproom. They offer many varieties of beer that can be served in Tulips, Mugs and Pints, as well as Flights. Setting these options up correctly will allow the end user to capture the reporting data from the sales in a clean way. If two Menu Items have the same Name, the data will report together.
