Does SpotOn have cases/handles/shoulder straps for the SpotOn Serve?

We don't stock them but maybe we will soon. For now, there are a lot of third-party resellers merchants could buy from:

We have some cases/holders for the handhelds that are black with clear plastic and a strap, if a merchant wants one please submit an addendum.

What kind of paper is used for the SpotOn Serve (A920)?

Thermal paper in the size of 2 1/4" x 50'

What is the password for the SpotOn Serve devices to change the time zone settings?

How long does the battery take to charge?

Within 3 hours.

Is there a difference when charging with cradle/dock vs. cord? Which charging mechanism comes standard with the device?

The device comes with a charging cable. A charging base/dock is optional and comes in 2 models. 1 model can charge the A920, and the other model charges the terminal and has multiple ports for communications and other peripherals. The Power Supply is the same for both, so the charging time should be the same.

What is the battery life with constant usage (how long it can be used in between chargers? 

Run time - 8 hours

We tested battery life and found these results:  App open with max screen brightness for 8 hours = battery drop from 100% to 36%. It drops around 8 to 10 % per hour (depends on screen brightness and the usage of the app)

How can a merchant manually batch on the SpotOn Handhelds?

Through the Transit app.

Can the SpotOn Serve connect to wifi?

Yes, it’s like an Android cell phone. Pull down the top bar menu and tap on the Wi-Fi icon to select network.

How do I switch between WIFI and cellular?

It’s been confirmed that the Android device prioritizes Wi-Fi over cellular. It will automatically switch to cellular if the Wi-Fi connection is lost (assuming cellular is turned on). 

It may take about 10 seconds to switch over depending on the size of the menu. The screen can be put to sleep if not being used, the server can press a physical button on the right side of the device to do this. It will take a few seconds to restore the connection once turned back on.
