How can I distinguish Order with Google orders vs orders from other channels?

Using a unique order type for Order with Google orders (set in BOH > Locations settings) is currently the best way to distinguish Order with Google orders. A future update is planned to eliminate the need to use a unique order type in order to distinguish Order with Google orders.

Subitem Price Levels

Subitem groups with different price levels on different items may not be shown correctly in the Google menuIn cases where a subitem group uses a different price level as compared to the price level set for the order type used for Order with Google orders, the prices for the items in that subitem group may be incorrect. A fix is expected soon.

If the restaurant takes orders for both lunch and dinner, but not the time in between, orders attempted for the unavailable time can be started, but not completed. This will be resolved by the upcoming Pacing connectionupdate mentioned above.

86’ing items

When an item is 86’d or made unavailable, this will be reflected in the next menu sent to Google. However, while the old menu is still up, Google will warn the guest that the item is unavailable, and prevent it from being ordered. A future update will update the Google menu within a few minutes.

Modifiers & Options

Default modifier selections & options are not currently supported for Order with Google menus. In some cases, this can cause certain menu items to cost more than expected given the cost of the default modifier options is added to the original item price. This issue will be resolved in a future update.

Pricing and Availability events

The menus we send to google do not have price and availability affected by pricing events, but the events Checkout validation: Pricing event availability and price changes DO affect pricing and availability at the time items are added to the order.

Menu display (pre-checkout): Menu item availability is updated to accurately reflect availability changes via pricing events. However, menu item prices are not currently updated to reflect price changes via pricing events are not updated. Support for displaying pricing event > price changes on Order with Google menus is planned as a future improvement.
