Temporary Disabling

For a temporary shutdown, merchants can use the Order Pause feature of the POS. This allows for a timed pause, or for an indefinite period. This will also pause SpotOn Order. Please see Pause Online Ordering for instructions.

Disabling in BOH

For longer-term shutdown, or if a merchant wants to shut down ordering with Google while leaving SpotOn Order unaffected, the BOH Settings for the Location have an option at the very bottom to disable Order With Google.

Note: the menu will not be removed instantly, but will be complete in less than two hours (updated menus are sent to Google hourly and then they must be processed by Google)

  • To shut down just pickup or just deliveries, setting the Ordering with Google order types to Disabled will disable ordering with Google for either pickup or delivery

  • To shut down both pickup and delivery through Google, uncheck the Enabled option for this feature

Info

Both of the above methods for disabling Ordering with Google will take effect in a few minutes

Subitem Price Levels

Subitems on Subitems

Menu items that have subitems on subitems may not appear correctly in the Google ordering interface. However, modifiers on subitems are supported.

Pacing

Order With Google orders are considered for pacing (counted against pacing blocks), and at checkout, guests are prevented from ordering if a pacing block is full.

Order with Google availability is also updated to reflect full pacing blocks, preventing guests from selecting relevant time slots. However, after a pacing block becomes full it can take up to 2 hours for availability to be reflected in Order with Google. This time delay will be reduced in a future updateDuring this period, the guest may not see a prompt to change the order time until they add an item to the order.

Split schedules

If the restaurant takes orders for both lunch and dinner, but not the time in between, orders attempted for the unavailable time can be started, but not completed. This will be resolved by the upcoming Pacing update mentioned above.

However, menu item prices are not currently updated to reflect price changes via pricing events are not updated.Support for displaying pricing event > price changes on Order with Google menus is planned as a future improvement.

This means that when a pricing event has changed the price of an item, the price shown on the item before ordering will be incorrect, but when the item is added to the order, the correct price is shown and charged.
