Disabling Order with Google

There are a few ways to disable or pause Order with Google. Some methods will only impact the Order with Google feature, while others will pause or deactivate all online ordering for your restaurant.

Turn Off Order with Google via Google My Business Account

  1. Log in to your Google My Business account

  2. Select Food Ordering from the settings menu

  3. Toggle Off the Your “Order online” button switch

Temporarily Disable Order with Google via the FOH

This method is also used to pause SpotOn Order. With this method both Order with Google and your SpotOn Online Ordering will be paused/disabled. This information can also be found under Pacing in the SpotOn Order information.

  1. In the FOH, tap Show Commands in the Command Bar to access the Select Command… menu

  2. Tap the Online Ordering Pacing button

  • This will open the Pacing Schedule Screen

3. On the left panel, there are two tabs, tap the second tab titled Pause Online Ordering

4. Select the desired option:

  • Pause indefinitely

    • This will require Online Ordering to be un-paused when the restaurant is ready to resume taking online orders

  • Pause for a set amount of time

    • If this option is selected, scroll up or down in the Hours and Minutes columns to indicate how long to pause Online Ordering

5. Tap Set

If the Pause is set for a specific amount of time, a countdown timer will display with the time remaining until online ordering resumes

You have the options to:

  • Resume Online Ordering Now

and

  • Modify time

If the Pause is indefinite you will only have the option to Resume Now

6. Tap Done to exit

  • When Online Ordering is Paused, there will be a green banner at the top of the screen to indicate this

  • Tap the green banner to access the Pause Online Ordering screen to edit or resume online ordering

The green banner will remain on the screen until SpotOn Order is resumed

Disable Order with Google in the BOH

This option is for longer-term shutdown, or if you want to shut down Ordering with Google while leaving SpotOn Order unaffected.

1. In the BOH, select Locations

2. Select the desired Location

3. Scroll to the Google Food Ordering Settings section at the bottom of Locations

4. Untick the Enabled checkbox

Note: The menu will not be removed instantly, but will be complete in less than two hours (updated menus are sent to Google hourly, and then they must be processed by Google)

  • To shut down just pickup or just deliveries, setting the Pickup or Delivery order types to None will disable Ordering with Google for the selected order type

Order with Google will be disabled within a few minutes
