Getting Started

SpotOn Mobile makes it easy to accept tap, dips, swipes, and even cash payments, right from your iOS or Android mobile device, wherever business takes you. Before you connect the Bluetooth reader to your mobile device, you must first activate your SpotOn account.


On a Laptop or Desktop Computer / First Time Login

  1. Visit www.spoton.com and click on the “Merchant Login” button from the top menu (login credentials can be located in your email)

  2. Agree to our Terms of Service, and then select your default account settings

    • Connect your Facebook account to enable social media marketing campaigns

    • Choose your business category so people using the free SpotOn consumer mobile app can easily discover your business

  3. We recommend that you also update your password at this time to secure your account, as you will the same credentials to log in to the SpotOn Mobile Payments app. To update your password:

    • Click on the circle in the upper right hand corner of the screen and select “Account Settings:

    • Select the “Users” tab

    • Click on the appropriate link to reset your password by either email or with your default password


On Your Mobile Device

  1. Make sure your mobile device has an internet connection either via Wi-Fi or mobile connectivity (i.e. 3G, 4G, LTE, 5G)

  2. Visit the App Store on your device

  3. Search for SpotOn Payments and then download/install the app

  4. Open the app and log in with your SpotOn username and password

    • Once you are logged in you will see the terminal screen
