1. From BOH, tap the Locations icon, and select the appropriate Location

2. In the Settings section, scroll to SMS Enabled, and tick the checkbox

3. Input or confirm the SMS Display Name

4. In the SMS Number line, select Acquire Number

  • If the Merchant forgets to do it, we will auto-populate this the first time an outbound SMS is sent when an online order is made

  • This can not be manually entered and this number will not accept phone calls

  • You can test the flow in FOH by texting this number from your own phone to see it show up

 

5. Return to the BOH menu

6. Tap the Order Types icon

7. Select the order type ORD Dine-In

8. In the Settings section, tick the Send Curbside Pickup Text Message to Customer box

9. The merchant can choose to enter in their own custom message in the Custom Curbside Text Message Body field and can choose to use the variables listed out to populate things such as <Order Number> in the outbound text.

 

%LOCATION_NAME% -The SpotOn Order display name of the current location

%ORDER_NUMBER% - The order ID number

%ORDER_TIME% - The scheduled time of the order

%ORDER_TOTAL% - The total cost of the order in dollars

If the merchant does not enter anything, the default text that will be sent to customers when an online order is place will read:

“Thank you for your order at <Location Name>, <Order Number> should be ready at <Order Time>. Please respond to this message when you arrive.”

 

Please Note: For the restaurant name to display, there must be a Display Name added in the DineLoyal/SpotOn Online Ordering Settings section in the Locations settings
