About Single Sign-On

What is single sign-on (SSO)?

Single sign-on is an upgraded login experience rolling out to SpotOn Dashboard, Reporting, and Back of House. SSO will allow users to log in to all of these applications with a single username and password.

What are the benefits of single sign-on?

Single sign-on will make your login experience smoother. For accounts under the same email address, you’ll no longer have to re-enter login credentials when you switch between SpotOn Dashboard, Reporting, and Back of House. You’ll have one single sign-on password for all three applications that are associated with the same email address.

What applications are on single sign-on?

SpotOn Dashboard, Reporting, and Back of House are on the single sign-on experience.

What is a single sign-on password?

A single sign-on password is one password used to login to the single sign-on applications under the same email address. That means the same password will be used for SpotOn Dashboard, Reporting, and Back of House.

Does that mean if I have access to a single sign-on application, I have access to all single sign-on applications? For example, if I have Dashboard access, will I automatically receive SpotOn Reporting and SpotOn Back of House access?

No, access to one SSO application does not mean you will automatically get access to all SSO applications. You will still need a new account created for that specific SSO application.

Upgrade to Single Sign-On

How do I upgrade to single sign-on?

Accounts are gradually transitioning to single sign-on in the coming months (Summer 2024).

If your account is used across multiple single sign-on applications, you will receive an email to the email address associated with the account indicating when it is your upgrade period. When it is your upgrade period, it is recommended that you immediately follow the steps to verify your email and set a single sign-on password. Failure to do so can result in an account lockout.

If your account is not used across multiple single sign-on applications, no action is required on your end.

What happens if I don’t upgrade to SSO?

All SpotOn Dashboard, Reporting, and Back of House must upgrade to single sign-on. If you do not upgrade during the recommended upgrade period, you risk being locked out of your account.

I haven’t upgraded yet. Is there anything I should do to prepare?

If you're sharing your SpotOn login info for Dashboard, Reporting, and Back of House with someone else, it's recommended for each individual to have their own accounts. For help in creating a new account, please contact support at 1-877-814-4102.

I’ve received the SSO upgrade email indicating it’s time to upgrade to SSO. What do I need to do now?

Great! Now it’s time for you to start your upgrade through a series of on screen prompts. Below is an overview of what the prompts will look like. We recommend you complete the steps as soon as possible to prevent an account lockout.

Please note the screens you see may look slightly different than the below. If you have any concerns or need help, please please contact support at 1-877-814-4102.

How do I reset my single sign-on password?

When you’re on single sign-on, password resets are easy! On each login page, there will be a “Forgot Password?” link that you can use to receive a password reset email to the email address associated with your account.

If I reset my password for one application, does that change the password for all my single-sign on applications?

Yes, resetting a password for one single sign-on application will reset the password for all your single sign-on applications. For accounts under the same email address, they will share one single sign-on password.

What happens when I get access to a new SSO application? For example, I already have a SpotOn Dashboard account and then get an account for SpotOn Reporting.

When the new SSO application account is set up with the same email address as other SSO applications you have access to, the password will be your existing SSO password.
