Overview

A custom view enables you to access and configure datasets to create a tailored "view" that aligns with your unique processes. This feature empowers you to customize your data precisely to your needs, offering the flexibility to obtain the information you require in the format you prefer.

1. Log into your dashboard.spoton.com and navigate via the left menu bar to “Reporting” then “Custom Views”

2. In the top right corner, select “New Custom View”. This will launch your view creator

You can the use the icons to switch between a card view or a list view.

 

3. Choose to build a view from a Template or from Scratch.

What is a Stock Template? A template is a pre-designed view that you can use as a starting point for creating a custom view. It saves you time by providing a ready-made format that you can edit.

What is a Data Source? A data source is where the underlying information comes from. Using a data source allows you to create a custom view from scratch.

Predefined Templates

If you selected “from Predefined Templates, the following templates are available for custom views:

Sales by Order Type: An overview of sales based on different order types. 

Order List: A detailed report listing all restaurant orders, including key info like order number, type, status, and total amount.

Sales by Category:  A report showing sales performance across different menu categories, like Beverages, Appetizers, and Entrees.

Employee Sales: A report tracking sales made by each employee, providing insights into individual performance and contributions.

Product Mix: A report highlighting the sales distribution of menu items, helping analyze the popularity and performance of each product.

Orders Per Day: The total number of orders placed each day, providing insights into daily sales trends and volume.
Unsold Items:  A report identifying items that haven’t been sold within a specific time period, helping track inventory and underperforming products.

Build from Scratch

If you selected to Build from Scratch, you want to:

  • Select your data source.
    The following data sources are available for custom views:

    • Orders

    • Items

    • Menu

    • Payments

  • Select the fields you would like to include in your view. The available fields for each source will appear after you select a data source.

4. Name your view by clicking into the text “New Custom View (click to change)” located in the top left corner and type a name that you can easily refer back to

If you start with a template, it may say the template name. You may rename it for your own view

5. Last, save your view to use in the future by clicking “Save”.  When you navigate back to the main page, you’ll be able to find your saved view

If you want to edit an existing view, simply choose that view from your main page.
Then, select the icon. This will launch your view editor. From here, you can select, deselect, or rearrange any fields in the existing view.

  • Select Fields: Use the checkboxes to select and deselect the fields you would like to see in your view.

  • Rearrange Fields: Click on the 6 dots to drag and drop the fields in the order you would like to see them in. 

  • Unsure what a field is? Hover over the icon to see a definition.

1-Where can I find custom views?

  • Custom views is located in SpotOn Dashboard: https://dashboard.spoton.com/

  • In order to use custom views, a user must have access to Dashboard. If a user does not have dashboard access, please contact support: (877) 814-4102, option 5 

 

  1. How do I log in to my SpotOn Dashboard?

  • Go to https://dashboard.spoton.com/ and log in using your SpotOn dashboard email address and password.

  • If you get an error message or forgot your password, click “Forgot password?” to reset your password.

  • Check your inbox for a password reset email with the subject “SpotOn account password reset” (check your Spam and Junk folders).

 

3.How do I switch between locations? My business has several locations. 

Support for group and multi-location views is coming soon, but at the moment you’ll need to select a specific location.

  • If you have multiple logins to access your locations, you will need to log into Dashboard using the credentials specific to the location you want to report on.

  • If your login credentials give you access to the group level in Dashboard, you can use the location switcher located under your profile in the top right corner.

  1. How do I add a filter to my view?

To add a filter to your view, select the “New Filter +” button. Once selected, you’ll be presented with a list of available filters. After selecting the filter you want to apply, use the checkboxes to select and deselect how you want to filter your view.
