Configuration & Setup | SpotOn Connect (Wi-Fi)


What is SpotOn Connect?

SpotOn Connect is an email capture tool for restaurants to provide free Wi-Fi for their customers, while letting customers provide their email address and sign up for the restaurant’s mailing list. This gives merchants a way to grow their customer lists and drive repeat business, while enhancing the customer experience by providing Wi-Fi.


Configure a Pronto Router for SpotOn Connect

  1. Once your router is set up to provide an internet connection, sign into your router’s admin page

  2. Navigate to Teleworker Gateway and select Splash Page

  3. Under Custom Splash URL, select the option Or provide a URL where users will be redirected and enter this URL: https://captive-portal.spoton.com/splash

And that’s it! Once customers attempt to connect to the wifi network they will be routed through the SpotOn Connect portal in order to connect to the internet.

1. When a customer connects to the Wi-Fi network, they are greeted with a landing page, with the merchant’s logo above Welcome! text

2. The customer selects Go Online and is then greeted with a sign up screen. They have the option to either sign up/sign in, or to select Continue as Guest

3a. If they decide to Continue as Guest, they will be greeted with a Connection Successful page, and automatically redirected to https://www.spoton.com after the checkmark animation completes

3b. If they decide to enter an email address, we will check if the email is already within the SpotOn system and associated with this merchant

  • If Yes, move forward

  • If No, we will automatically create a new SpotOn account with that email address if needed, associate the customer with the merchant, and move forward

4. After entering their email, they will see a welcome page, and after they hit Go to Internet they will be redirected to https://www.spoton.com and be connected to the merchant’s Wi-Fi
