The SpotOn Mobile card reader is designed with a long battery life, enabling you to process hundreds of transactions on a single charge. To recharge the reader, use the micro-USB charger included with your swiper.

Pairing Card Reader to Mobile Device

Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on the mobile device in order to pair the card reader.

  1. Press the power button on the carder reader to power it on

  2. On your mobile device, log in to the SpotOn Payments app and follow the prompts to connect to the card reader, or go to Settings, then tap Card Reader at the bottom of the menu

  3. Tap Connect Card Reader from the Card Reader Setup menu

  4. Tap Pair Card Reader… You will be taken to your mobile device’s settings to connect the card reader by pairing to a new Bluetooth device

  5. Tap the serial number displayed (matches the number printed on the back side of the SpotOn Mobile card reader [e.g CHBXXXXXXXXXXXX])

    • If using an Android device, two options may appear with the serial number for your card reader; please select the option that shows the phone icon

  6. Allow the device to connect and configure

  7. The Connected status will appear once complete

  8. Hit X to close out of the menu

Note: The first time the device is connected to the card reader, it may take a few minutes to pair. Once the device is paired the card reader, it should connect automatically anytime you open the SpotOn Payments app, as long as the card reader is powered on and the Bluetooth is activated on your mobile device.
