Teams

Utilizing the Teams feature of the SpotOn Restaurant POS is an easy and efficient way to split tips between multiple people. Teams can be used when there are multiple people working behind a bar who share tips on a regular basis, and teams can even be used on a case by case basis, in the instance of a large party that numerous servers are working. When Teams are setup, servers will be prompted to select a Team when they start new orders.

1. Tap Show Commands to access the Select Command… Menu

2. Tap Manage Teams

  • The Manage Teams screen will display

    • Any existing Teams will show on the left hand panel

3. Tap the New Team button

4. In the Team Name field assign a name to this Team

5. Check the Automatically Delete At End of Day checkbox if this Team will only be used as a one off, e.g., a large party with multiple people assigned to the table(s)

6. Check the Allow Personal Order checkbox if servers will being taking personal orders on top of the party

7. Use the Breakdown Method drop down to indicate how tips will be shared across this Team:

  • Equally across all members of team: doesn’t matter when an employee clocks in, they’ll get an even share of the tips

  • By percentage of hours each member worked on the team: a servers share of the tip pool will start once they’re clocked in and added to the team

8. Tap the checkmark in the upper right to create the new Team

 

9. Select the employees who will be on this team (selected employees will now display in blue)

10. Tap Save to complete

  • Once complete, servers should start orders under that Team

  • Once the table leaves and all orders are closed out, you can view the TEAM CLOSEOUT under Closeouts, above the normal employee specific closeouts. Use this to determine tip share of the servers on that team.
