How much does the SpotOn Appointments software cost if I already have SpotOn Retail?

The Appointments software is a $10 add-on to the cost of SpotOn Retail Grow. It is not available for Basic.


What devices does SpotOn Appointments pair with for payments?

Appointments integrates with SpotOn Retail, all SpotOn Retail devices.


If a client uses a terminal for payments that does not sync with the SpotOn Appointments software, will the Appointments software still work?

Yes, the Appointments software will still work; however, sales data will not be reported to the client’s dashboard.


Are clients using SpotOn Appointments with SpotOn Retail able to apply a cash discount?

Yes. Cash discount is available to clients using both SpotOn Retail and SpotOn Appointments.


Will the Appointments software work for employee-based salons?

Yes.


Will the Appointments software work for independent contractor (booth renter) salons?

Yes.


If there are multiple independent contractors working out of the same location, can they all be listed on their own individual calendars?

Yes. An independent contractor’s calendar will be separate from the employee-based calendars.


If there are multiple independent contractors working out of the same location, can they all be listed on the same calendar for booking appointments?

Yes.


Can the SpotOn Appointments widget be added to a website built by SpotOn?

Yes. 


Can the SpotOn Appointments widget be added to a website that was not built by SpotOn?

Yes. Clients can find instructions for how to place the online booking widget on several other popular website editors.


Can a SpotOn Appointments widget be added to a client’s Instagram account?

The widget cannot be added directly to Instagram, but the client can copy the “short link” and paste
it to the “website” section of their Instagram account. Doing this enables customers to click the link on Instagram and book appointments online. The short link can be found under the widget section of the Appointment software.


Can SpotOn Appointments be used for overnight bookings?

No.


Can SpotOn Appointments be used for restaurant reservations?

No. SpotOn Reserve is the best option for booking restaurant reservations.


Can I require payment at the time a customer books an appointment?

Yes. Appointments allows you to chose to require a deposit or FULL prepayment during the booking process.


Can a client require partial payment for an appointment at the time a customer books an appointment?

Yes. The client can enable a partial payment via deposit at the time of booking. The remaining total will be due at the time of the service’s completion.


If a client chooses to do so, how would they go about taking partial payment for an appointment?

The client will need to enable deposits in their settings. Once they’ve done this, customers will be
required to enter their credit card info and pay a deposit at the time of booking. The remaining balance will then be due at the time of the service’s completion.


Would the deposit automatically be taken out of the cost of the appointment?

Yes. The deposit will automatically be taken out of the total cost of the appointment, and the customer
will only need to pay the remaining balance upon checkout.


Can a client set a cancellation window, after which a customer would be charged for their appointment whether they show up or not?

Yes. The client can enable a cancellation policy as part of their no-show protection options.


Can a client store a card on file to charge a cancellation fee if a customer cancels after the stated cancellation window?

Yes. When the cancellation policy is turned on, customer credit card info will be kept on file and charged if a late cancellation occurs.


Can the client choose how much they charge for a late cancellation?

Yes. There are options to charge a percentage of the appointment or a flat-fee.


Can I rebook an appointment for a customer?

Yes.


Can a customer book recurring appointments?

Yes.


Can I hold a card on file in order to charge regular customers?

Yes, but only for the cancellation policy.


For whom is the SpotOn Appointments software ideal?

Our software is best suited for salons, barber shops, pet groomers, and personal trainers. We’re constantly updating and optimizing our software to make it even better for varying types of business, so we suggest businesses who fall out of the “ideal” category should schedule a demo.


Can a client view a demo of the Appointments software before they purchase it?

Yes. Their Account Executive can demo the Appointments software to them.


How can an Account Executive schedule a SpotOn Appointments demo for their client?

An AE can schedule a client-facing Appointments demo by going to

Does an Appointments demo need to be booked in advance, or can it be requested on the spot?

Appointments demos must be booked in advance, based on the availability of the support team.


Can the “Book now” button be added to Instagram and Twitter as a link?

Yes. To do this, the client simply needs to add the website URL to the website section of instagram or Twitter.


Does a customer’s credit card info stay on file for cancellation purposes, or do they have to enter it each time they make an appointment?

After a customer has booked an appointment—including inputting their CC info—the card will stay on file
