Starting & Choosing Your Business Category

Merchant navigates to the Marketing Assist tab in SpotOn Dashboard. On this screen, the merchant will select the business category that best reflects their business. Be as specific as possible when choosing your category, this category will be used to match relevant content to your campaigns. Once selected, continue onboarding by clicking the ‘Get Started’ button.

If Marketing Assist is set as NOT SOLD in HUB, merchants will see the ‘add service’ screen and will be asked to submit the interest form to purchase.

Select Your Marketing Objectives

The merchant will select which marketing objectives fit best with their business goals. They can choose from Increase Online Orders, Get More In-Person Visits, Increase Phone Calls and Generate Reservations. The merchant is allowed to select as many objectives as they would like. Each objective also has a field to define (website, phone number, address) when that objective is selected.

Set Your Maximum Discount Offer

The merchant will select the maximum percentage off discount they would like to offer in marketing campaigns. Marketing campaigns may use a variety of different discounts for different occasions but will never offer more than the selected amount in this step. The merchant can also choose ‘Don’t Offer Deals’ in which no discounts will be used in campaigns.

Define Times to Boost Your Business

Merchants can select some additional times throughout the month where they would like extra marketing campaigns. These campaign types are Meal Time Boost, Happy Hour, Deal of the Month and Slow Day Boost. These campaigns will be sent once per month but will feature a recurring deal. The deals will be based on the campaign configurations in this step.

Set Your Brand Styling

Merchants can better personalize their marketing campaigns by adding styling options in the last step on onboarding. Merchants can upload a logo, set their business name, choose a font and pick their brand color. These styling options will be automatically used in marketing materials to add more personalization to campaigns. Merchants can also preview an example email using their styles on the right-hand side of the screen. Click ‘Finish’ and you have completed onboarding!

Complete Your Account Setup

After onboarding, there are a few more tasks to complete to ensure you get the most out of your marketing campaigns. Connect Facebook, connect Google Business Profile, upload a customer list and learn how to add customers via RPOS can all help drive better results from your campaigns. Each task is optional and can be skipped.

View Upcoming Campaigns

Now that onboarding is complete, merchants can view their first 5 campaigns scheduled to be sent. Hovering over a campaign allows you to preview, edit or delete. Any campaign can be edited before it is scheduled to send (Marketing Editor info link here). Merchants will also receive an email 10 days prior to publishing date to review the campaign.

Channel icons are also shown under each campaign to display which channels the campaign will be posted to. Merchants can also connect a channel from these icons. ‘Deal’ or ‘Modified’ labels may be displayed under a campaign. ‘Deal’ label would be there is a deal tied to that campaign and ‘Modified’ label would mean the campaign has been edited by the merchant since it was generated by Maas.

Settings

Any of the campaign settings configured in Onboarding can be viewed and changed in Settings. You can find Settings in the Upcoming Campaigns section. Updates to settings will take place ONLY on newly created campaigns (campaigns already scheduled will not be adjusted). You will need to update those manually for you would like the changes to be immediate.

View Campaign Performance

After campaigns begin to send, merchants can view their performance in the Campaign Results section of the Marketing Dashboard. Views, Interactions, Deals Redeemed, Sales with a Deal and New Customers From Deal Claims are metrics which are tracked and reported in the merchant dashboard.

Metric Definitions:

  • Views: The total number of times your campaign posts per viewed

  • Interactions: Total times a customer calls, clicks ‘Get Directions’, visits your website, or clicks your post (these are based on the marketing objectives set in Onboarding)

  • Deals Redeemed: The number of times your Marketing Deals were redeemed

  • Sales with a Deal: The total amount of sales placed with a Marketing Deal

  • New Customers From Deal Claims: The number of new customers who signed up to claim a deal from your campaigns (Facebook and Google channels only)

Merchants can view a summary view at the top of Campaign Results or see individual campaign performance in the table below. The most recent campaigns are shown at the top of the table and older campaigns can be viewed by tabbing to the next page of the table.
