This article will detail how to use Start-A-Tab on SpotOn Express.
Action | Display |
1. Enter PIN to unlock station |

2. Select New Check in the lower-right corner of the screen | 
|
3. At the Check Details screen, enter a name for the Check |
|
4. Tap on the Credit card number field and follow the prompts to insert or swipe the customer's payment method using the attached credit card terminal
When starting a tab via chip reader, the customer's name will automatically be read from the card itself. Customers who use tap to pay will still need their name entered manually. |

5. Select Start Check in the lower-right corner of the screen

6. Add all applicable items to the order |
|
7. Select Submit when ready to send the items to the kitchen for preparation -OR- move directly to the checkout screen. For more information completing checkout, please refer to this article on the checkout process. |
