SpotOn Terminal can accept credit card transactions via EMV, Swipe, or Contactless. Debit card transactions can also be processed as credit. In addition, the terminal can also record and manage cash transactions.

Credit Card Sale

  1. Enter the dollar amount of the sale and tap Pay

  2. Tap the Card $X.XX button

  3. Insert, swipe, or tap credit card. The terminal will display an animation of these actions.

    • Insert the card at the bottom on the terminal, wait for prompt to Remove card; or

    • Swipe the card at the top of the terminal; or

    • Tap the card at the top of the terminal

  4. Select Tip amount

  5. If prompted, request Customer signature

  6. Tap Pay $X.XX

  7. Terminal will display Sale Details and allow you to Email Receipt (if desired)

Sale Details:
- Change Due, if applicable
- Sale ID
- Subtotal
- Taxes/Tips
- Tender Type
- Collected Amount
- Total

To Email Receipt:
1. If desired, scroll down and tap Email Receipt
2. Input customer email address
3. Tap Send Receipt

  1. Enter the dollar amount of the sale and tap Pay

  2. Tap the Cash $X.XX button

  3. Enter the collected amount, then tap Done

    • If the Customer pays with exact change, tap Exact Amount

  4. Terminal will display Sale Details and allow you to Email Receipt (if desired)

Sale Details:
- Change Due, if applicable
- Sale ID
- Subtotal
- Taxes/Tips
- Tender Type
- Collected Amount
- Total

To Email Receipt:
1. If desired, scroll down and tap Email Receipt
2. Input customer email address
3. Tap Send Receipt

 


 

Extras

During each transaction, there is the option to add/remove taxes, fees, and discounts to the sale. These options are located in the Extras section.

If enabled in settings.

  1. Enter the sale amount as normal

  2. Tap Extras

  3. Use the Taxes check box to turn taxes for this transaction On/Off

  4. Use the Fees check box to turn Convenience Fees for this transaction On/Off

  5. Tap the ← arrow in the upper left to return to the Sale

  1. Enter the sale amount as normal

  2. Tap Extras

  3. Tap Add Discount

  4. In the Discount Name text field, input a name for the Discount

  5. Select Percentage ( % ) or Dollar Amount ( $ )

  6. Input the discount amount, ( XX% ) or ( $X.XX )

    • If the discount is more than the transaction amount, an Excess Discount Warning pop up will advise “The transaction total will be $0.00, however there is an unused discount associate with this transaction. Please tap ‘OK’ to continue.”

  7. Tap Save to return to Extras menu

  8. Tap the ← arrow in the upper left to return to the Sale

To remove a discount, tap the red trashcan icon next to the applied discount in the Extras menu
