Close out On Clockout

  • If you want to “close” the closeout when an employee clocks out, check the box for this setting. It would ensure that if the employee clocks back in for another shift, they’ll be working with a fresh closeout with zeroed out data. You can always look at the closeout total for the DAY by selecting “Daily Totals” on the closeout screen.

Cash Management Method

  • None - This causes there to be NO cash management method chosen, and there’s no requirements on opening or closing cash on the closeout.

  • Standard - This requires the employee to enter both a starting cash amount and closing cash amount.

    • The system will prompt them to input a starting cash (if they haven’t already) when they’re completing their first cash sale.

    • The system will not allow you to print a closeout prior to entering closing cash, which then generates your over/short compared to your cash due.

  • Blind - This causes the employee to not be able to see any of their closeout. This is typically used in corporate environments with financial oversight on cash drawers. Blind cash management requires the bartender to do the following:

    • Count the cash drawer at start of shift and enter that value.

    • Perform proper cash handling to ensure accuracy of their bar drawer.

    • Input all tips to ensure accuracy of tips on closeout report.

    • Once these are confirmed, manager can check and tell the bartender how much they made in tips.

    • Bartender then pulls the tips amount, counts down the rest of the drawer, and enters that number into the closing cash field.

    • Bartender informs manager that their closeout is ready, manager checks closeout, looking specifically at “over/short.”

    • If over/short is within a reasonable range (as close to $0 as possible) then the manager can print the closeout report, hand to bartender, and the bartender will include it with their cash and credit card receipts.

    • **This method provides the most amount of accountability and security when it comes to managing bartender cash drawers and closeouts.**

Print Close Report On Clockout Method

If you want the closeout report to auto-print when an employee clocks out, you can configure that setting here. Auto print reports can be for ONLY the current shift, or the ENTIRE DAY (which would include double shifts).

  • If you want to sometimes print the closeout on clock, use Prompt. It will then prompt you to print the closeout or ignore when you clock out.

    • “None” would make it so no closeout prints at clockout and there will also be no prompt to print the closeout.
