Overview

Scan & Pay allows customers to scan a QR Code on their bill and pay right there at the table rather than waiting for their server to return or walk to the counter to check out.

 

 

 

QR Scan & Pay

SpotOn QR allows customers to scan a QR code at the bottom of their bill to pull up payment and tipping options directly on their mobile devices, rather than paying their server directly using cash or a credit card.

Customers can choose their payment method from their mobile device, including:

  • Apple Pay

  • Google Pay

  • Credit Card

  • Gift Card

This allows customers to pay and leave at their leisure, without having to wait for the staff member to return with a receipt for signature or outstanding change for cash payments. Additionally, SpotOn Order & Pay allows guests to effortlessly earn and redeem Loyalty Rewards points.

QR Notify Staff of Payment

QR Notify Staff of Payment allows staff to immediately see if guests have paid for their table. This helps avoid the stress of walk-outs and allows employees to verify that a payment has been completed.

This feature is convenient for customers and restaurant staff, making operations and the guest experience fast and easy.

 

QR Order & Pay for Counter Service

SpotOn QR allows customers to scan a QR code at a counter or anywhere in the restaurant to place orders and make payments from their mobile devices.

Order & Pay is ideal for businesses that don’t use tables, such as food trucks, breweries, and cafeteria-style restaurants.

 

QR Order & Pay for Table Service

SpotOn QR allows customers to browse the menu, place orders, and pay their tab directly from their mobile devices.

Customers can place group orders from a single device by adding other guests by invitation only.

  1. Login to the BOH and select Locations

2. Scroll down to the SpotOn Order settings section and locate the QR Scan & Pay options

3. Enable QR Scan & Pay using the Check Mark on the right

4. In the Display Message field, input a customized message to display beneath the QR code on the printed receipt

To see a preview of the QR receipt, select the VIEW button

  • Auto Close When Paid - Enabled

  • Order Type - Online Ordering

4. Generate or request QR Codes to place around the restaurant

  • Reduces the time between when a customer wants to place an order and when the order is placed, leading to larger check totals

  • Allows customers order items even when staff isn’t available

  • Staff doesn’t have to process payments themselves, allowing them to spend time fulfilling orders and keeping lines moving

1. Login to the BOH and select Locations

2. Scroll down to the QR Order & Pay settings options

3. SpotOn recommends the following settings:

  • Pay Later - Enabled

  • Require Table Number - Enabled

  • Group Ordering - Enabled

  • Auto Close When Paid - Enabled

  • Order Type - Online Ordering

4. Generate or request QR codes for the restaurant

 

Multiple Orders at a Single Table

  • When multiple guests are at a table and scan a QR code, a new order will be created for each guest using the guest’s name and phone number.

  • When multiple orders are placed from a table, a new icon will appear on the table’s layout. When a server selects the table, a new modal will appear showing the table orders

Introducing Table QR Order & Pay to Staff

  • Reduces the time between when a customer wants to place an order and when the order gets sent to the kitchen, allowing staff to serve more guests

  • Customers are able to pay for their meal in less than 10 seconds, saving time for guests and servers

  • Customers tip more when math is easy and convenient

  • Staff doesn’t have to process payments themselves, allowing them more time to tend to their tables and provide stronger customer service

  • When a Group is Seated

You can scan the QR code on your table to access the menu, place your order, add additional items, and pay when you're ready. I'm here to answer any questions about the menu or help you if you need anything.

  • When the Table is Cleared

No need to hurry! When you're ready, simply scan the QR code to make your payment from your device.

 

 

 


Group Ordering QR Order & Pay Configuration

Group Ordering allows guests to scan a QR Code and invite other guests to pay for their own orders securely using the Invite Others button.

1. From the BOH, select Locations

2. Scroll down to the QR Order & Pay setting options and update the following settings:

  • Group Ordering - Enabled

  • Order Type - Online Ordering

3. Once enabled, customers placing orders will have the ability to use the Invite Orders button displayed in the QR Code header


Automated SMS on Order Placement

Restaurants can set up customized, automated text messages that are sent to customers upon placing a QR order.
