SpotOn Delivery Powered by DoorDash FAQ

What do these changes look like to a customer?

  • Changes to the existing SpotOn Order experience are minimal and will just show “Delivery” as a new order type to choose from.

  • DoorDash offers contactless delivery at checkout.

What does this cost for my business?

  • At the end of the day, DoorDash will charge SpotOn $7.95 per completed deliveries + the tip included in each delivery.

    • The DoorDash fee is not seen by the customer.

    • This will only show up in your billing statement.

    • Businesses may offset this by creating their own delivery fee or establishing an order value minimum.

How are merchants billed?

  • Billing occurs automatically after DoorDash Drive is enabled in BOH.  Merchants will be able to see a payment breakdown in their statements on their dashboard.

How does this appear in reporting?

  • DoorDash will appear in regular restaurant reporting as whatever order type it has been named.

What about tips?

  • Tips go directly to the DoorDash driver.  The business will be charged every 24 hours for the sum of the DoorDash tips for that day, along with the fee for DoorDash orders for that day.

How far does DoorDash deliver?

  • DoorDash delivers within a 10-mile radius from the restaurant in most jurisdictions. The merchant will have no control over the delivery radius. Any questions about your restaurants delivery radius can be directed to drive-support@doordash.com

Does DoorDash have a weight limit on deliveries?

  • Yes, DoorDash does not deliver any single item exceeding 50 lbs.

What if my restaurant is already offering delivery?

  • We can only support one delivery method at this time.  If a restaurant is using internal delivery but wants DoorDash they can only use one or the other.

    • If a restaurant has both internal delivery and DoorDash turned on, DoorDash will override internal.

What if a customer forgot something and wants to add it to their order?

  • If a customer calls in and wants to add an item to their order, the merchant must treat this as a separate transaction.  They are then responsible for adding this new item to the bag for DoorDash to pickup.

How do I get DoorDash orders to print to the kitchen immediately?

  • In the BOH, navigate to Locations and then scroll down to the Scheduled Orders section.  Go to “Default Minutes Before to Release” and set it to match the DoorDash Delivery Lead Time you previously set.
